Parent portal accounts are created by a Beacon College student completing a FERPA waiver.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is the foundation of students’ privacy rights and confidentiality of student records. According to federal law, once a student reaches the age of 18 or is enrolled in a post-secondary institution, their parents no longer have rights to student information unless the student provides written consent. Beacon College strives to maintain strict compliance with this law.
Parents or guardians only receive access to a student's educational, financial and residential information if the student provide this access through the FERPA waiver. More information about the FERPA and the online FERPA waiver form is available on the student portal - FERPA (Parental Access) page. Students can also change or revoke this access at any time.
Please be aware: parent portal access is not immediate when the student completes this form. The FERPA form is processed through the Registrar's Office, and the parent will receive an email notification of their new parent portal account within 1-2 business days.
